To get to Engineer Pass from Hwy 550, I take CR 18. Here it runs next to Mineral Creek. The road is pretty rocky, but this section is pretty good.

That looks like a gnarly road in the distance, but actually it's a foot path up to Darley Mtn. Engineer Mtn is off the right edge of the photo.

After lunch in Lake City, I take the south half of the Alpine Loop to get me back to Ouray. It goes through Cinnamon Pass.
