The next stop was the partially destroyed castle overlooking Heidelberg ("Schoss Heidelberg" in German). This is in the gift shop.

The castle was ruined by fires caused by lightning and by several wars.

You need to buy tickets to tour the castle with a guide, but exploring the German Apothecary Museam is free, seen in the next few photos.
